Volunteer Motto

Tour de Lincoln Bike Ride

The Tour de Lincoln is a benefit bike ride for the Lincoln Volunteer Center. The ride consists of four courses: a 100k (63 mile) course, 40 mile course, 20 mile course and 10 mile family fun course. Volunteers are needed the day of the ride, May 9, 2009, for a variety of tasks.

Lincoln Creek Day

The 6th Annual Lincoln Creek Day will take place April 18th, 2009. A detailed listing of the events is posted on our Lincoln Open Space website at www.lincolnopenspace.org. The Lincoln Open Space Committee is soliciting volunteers to help out.

Fourth of July Parade and Festival

Volunteers needed to assist with a variety of tasks before and during the parade. For more information, contact the Lincoln Chamber at 645-2035. The Festival takes place in McBean Park and volunteers can contact the Recreation Department at 645-5298.

Make A Difference Day

Every year the Lincoln Volunteer Center coordinates local volunteers for a variety of local community projects for Make a Difference Day. Next years event will take place on Saturday, October 24th, 2009.

In 2008, projects included planting flowers downtown, planting trees and cleaning up at local schools, pruning roses at the Lincoln cemetery, cleaning up Markham Ravine and other fun projects.

Secret Santa for Seniors

Volunteers are needed to assist with collection and sorting of gifts during the month of December and to help disburse gifts at local senior care homes the second week of December.
