Utility Services Section

The City of Lincoln provides water, sewer, and refuse pick up services to all residents within the incorporated City limits. Billing for services is performed monthly. The charges for all three services are combined on one bill, which is mailed between the 8th and the 12th day of each month. Bills are due and payable upon receipt and considered past due after the last day of the month in which they are received.

If you are a new resident in the City of Lincoln, there is a “Utility Services Request” form to complete and return to the City of Lincoln in order to establish water, sewer, and refuse pick up services. Please see the download section below to access this form. The City of Lincoln will charge a $12 processing fee to set up your account. This amount will be reflected on your first utility bill. As soon as the form is received, a 90-gallon refuse can is automatically ordered for you and delivered to your home.

Refuse (garbage) pick up varies depending on where you live in the City. Please contact our Public Services Department at 434-2450 for additional information on pick up.

Business Licenses

Any person or entity transacting any business in the City of Lincoln must pay for a business license. Residents who operate a business from their home are also required to apply for a home occupation permit. The business license tax is $30 per year, renewable annually in January.

If you would like to download a copy of the business license application, please see the download section below.

Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
