Facilities

Many City facilities throughout Lincoln can be rented for private events. Renting facilities is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. All organizations wanting to reserve Lincoln facilities should make reservations for those facilities at least thirty (30) days prior to an event.

Beermann Downtown Plaza
640 5th Street

Beermann Downtown Plaza is an outdoor location in the heart of downtown Lincoln. With a beautiful fountain and small shade trees, the Plaza makes a wonderful setting for a small event.
Rental Fee: $80 per hour
Non-Resident Fee: 130 per hour
Contributing Service Organizations: $50
Damage/Cleaning Deposit: $105


Civic Center
472 E Street

The facility has one large room and is useful for larger group meetings (holds approximately 50 people). The facility does not have a kitchen and food is not allowed.
Rental Fee: $105 full day; $55 half day
Non-Resident Rental Fee: $120 full day; $65 half day
Youth Organizations: $35 full day; $40 half day
Fee to hold a date: $155
Contributing Service Organizations: $55 full day; $30 half day
Non-Profit: $80 full day; $20 half day $200 Damage/Cleaning Deposit required


Community Center
2010 First Street

Located on the corner of First Street and Joiner Parkway, the Community Center is the home of many Recreation programs including the Recreation Department staff. The Community Center features a gymnasium, a stage, and meeting rooms.

McBean Pavilion
65 McBean Park Drive

For that special party or meeting, consider the beautiful, newly remodeled McBean Pavilion. The Pavilion is ideal for weddings and parties if you need a spacious reception hall, kitchen, two wet bars, large stage for band, DJ or presentation.

This 6,720 sq. ft. (160' x 42') facility can accommodate 400 people for banquet seating and 500 in a theater-style set up. The rental fee includes tables (12' rectangular and 72' round) and chairs, set up, clean up and use of kitchen facility.

Resident rental fee: $915 full day, $400 half day (4 hours)
Non-resident rental fee: $1010 full day, $500 half day (4 hours)
$400 refundable security deposit Non-Profit rental fee: $610 full day, $400 half day
Community Service Organization: $360 full day, $300 half day
Youth Organizations: $155 to reserve a date; $305 fundraiser
Crab Feed Damage: $400
Refundable Damage/Cleaning Deposit: $400
Rental Hourly Fee (if over 8 hours): $150


McBean BBQ Area
65 McBean Park Drive

The McBean Barbecue Area is a paved area great for an outdoor event. Located next to McBean Pavilion, the Barbecue Area has a beautiful shade structure, covered space for cooking, restroom facilities, landscaping and plenty of parking. Tables and chairs are available for use and a full kitchen is available for rent as well.

Resident rental fee: $460
Non-Resident rental fee: $560
Non-Profit rental fee: $330
Youth Organizations: $205 $155 to hold a date
Community Contributing Organizations: $255 Rental fee for the kitchen is $80 resident and $92 non-resident.
Refundable Damage/Cleaning Deposit: $400

McBean Pool

McBean Swimming Pool is a cool, summer alternative to an indoor party for a special function. The pool has a diving board and separate wading pool.

Rental Fee: $85 for first hour; $75 for each additional hour
Non-Resident Rental Fee: $115 for the first hour; $105 for each additional hour
Additional Lifeguards: $51


McBean Skate Park

The Skate Park is located within McBean Park and is the place to go to practice your coolest skating tricks and moves.

Skate Park Hours:

Open every day, dawn to dusk
Skating is now FREE!

No ID Card required!

Rules:

  • All participants must wear knee and elbow pads along with a helmet.
  • No food or drink inside the skate area.
  • Foul language of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Skateboarder and in-line skaters share the park. Bikes are not allowed in the skate park.
  • The City reserves the right to ask someone to leave if they are not following the rules. The person must leave the premises completely if asked.
  • There is a maximum of 40 skaters allowed in the park at one time.
  • Be considerate of younger, beginning skaters or boarders.




To secure your requested date on the Facilities Calendar, the following items must be on file with the City:

1. Receipt of Rental Payment for facility and the refundable security deposit

2. Certificate of Insurance

3. Facility Use agreement – Original

4. Contract for Security officers

The City is unable to confirm your reservation until each of the above-mentioned forms are on file with the City.

If you will be selling alcohol at your event, you must secure approval from the Lincoln Police Department at (916) 645-4040. If your event requires street closure, special setup and/or planning strategies, your organization will be required to meet with the City’s Special Events and Incidents Committee. It is mandatory that a representative from your organization attend this committee meeting.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How do I reserve a date?

Dates are reserved when all 4 items listed above are received. Contact the Recreation Division at 645-5298.

2. Can I pay a deposit?

No, the entire rental fee and security deposit are due at the time of reservation.

3. Do I need a liquor license?

Only if you are selling alcohol.

4. Do I have to be a Lincoln resident to reserve a facility?

No, but there is a non-resident fee.

5. Do I need to rent tables and chairs?

No. The tables and chairs are included with rental facilities at the Pavilion, Civic Center, Scout Hall and the Barbecue area. The Civic Center, Scout Hall, and BBQ area have 8' tables; the Pavilion has 12' tables and 72'' round tables.

6. Do I need to make reservations for a birthday party in the park?

No. It is on a first come, first served basis. If you’ve rented a “Jump House,” you need an encroachment permit issued by the Public Works Department and certificate of insurance. The permit takes at least 72 hours to process.
