Short’s professional career has revolved around public service and development issues. He served as Assistant to the Town Manager for the Town of Loomis for 6 years where he managed grants and contracts for service.
In August 2006, Short started his own Real Estate sales and consulting business. He also consults with local governments across the state of California on housing and management policy issues.
Short earned his Bachelor of Arts in Government and Economics from California State University Sacramento, and his Master of Public Administration from Golden Gate University. He is a graduate of the University of the Pacific-McGeorge School of Law with a Juris Doctor and a concentration in Taxation.
Short serves on the city’s water, solid waste, and public safety committees to name just a few of the in house committees. In addition he also serves on the Nevada Irrigation District/City of Lincoln and Placer County Water Agency/City of Lincoln joint planning committees representing the City’s interest in long term and cooperative ventures with the two water providers. He also is a past chair of both the Placer Local Agency Formation Commission which oversees development and growth issues among the Cities and Special Districts, and the Western Placer Waste Management Authority which manages the Western Regional Landfill and the recycling efforts that take place at the Material Recovery Facility.
