Lincoln Forced to Pay State $871,000

In the midst of ongoing budget workshops being conducted to close a $2 million budget gap by reducing critical city services such as public safety, parks & recreation and library hours, Lincoln was forced to turn over $871,000 to the Placer County Auditor, a required payment resulting from the State's decision to raid $2.05 billion in local redevelopment funds as part of the 2009-10 State Budget.
